Of course no one wants a sammitch with a bite out of it , but in the case shown it was me me me that took the bite out of it .....
but the crust of this fish story is about herds of creek fish , now mind you the crappie were all just chips and the sandies were nice sammitchez , and the rods were bent and the hooting it up was in full swing .
some fish hit the dirt and some not so much and some lines were snapped and the fights raged on . of course ones arm gets tired when just whacking and whacking and after a hundred or 150 at my age i start to slow up and lose some steam .
it amazed me that there were so many little crappie in one spot , probabaly got 25 bites in row and hooked bunches of them , but they were just a pit stop on the way back to the truck .
so when it became obvious i managed way more than enough fish slime on me ,I hit the trail ....
and even old eyes might spot something in the brush worth a second look ....
now some would say how on earth could you spot that in the leaf litter and sticks and such on a brushy trail.
and i would say this about that , never ever think little ole me aint aware of what is going on around him and even right under foot....
just lookee at this find , worth the hike for sure ....
p.s the big birds were there this trip watching intently at the herds of fish swimming by , both the big egret and the HUGE great blue liked the same spot and both got frustrated watching me and left .....
AND then you might ask your self this about that. is the word really ....
KABOOM ? I would answer with a grin yep for sure
AND NO , me wasn't using a shake my spear , just saying

The love for fishing is one of the best gifts you can pass along
the part that made me sad was the fella that showed up right across the creek with a full bucket of minnows and after a good long time never even got a single bite !
tried to coach him some ,but in the end what ,,,,,,,what we had here today was a failure to communicate .....
some fellas you just cant thru too as the song says .....

It is that way at times. One can hope he was happy to sit there with his bucket of minners letting the day drift away

he just totally couldnt let it sit and twitch it , he had to reel it every twitch and they didnt want it like that

when the float hit the water and stood up , 1 or 2 twitches and it was gone , if you drug it at all , they wasn't liking it very much .
that spot is notorious for letting it sit and just twitch it in place ,crappie and sandbass want it like that in there for sure .
and sadly enough most folks CAN'T not use the reel after it hits the water ....
