I'm digging the YOTE picture! If you need help culling the coyote population, I'd love to help out.

    Mighty fine thinking.

difficult on our place to see many bucks past about 1 or 2 years older after they get a rack on their head that looks decent .
one or 2 in the 4 years since we had the place have made it 2 seasons more ,pretty sure the large open space wandering they do puts them in front of the I got a deer crowd . not the what a deer crowd ......
lots of meat hunting goes on out there for sure and every rancher that passes by knows the next rancher and carries a rifle or 3 in the truck too .....
pretty rough spot to be a deer during deer season for sure .

we are going to start calling this year , the numbers seem to growing , never saw many if one 3 years ago , or heard many either , now it sounds like a dog kennel at dark and we are seeing one about every week .

With a supply of food they will populate and area pretty quickly. I used coon urine as a cover scent on my boots. Apparently coon was on the menu had one walk in my tracks all the way to the stand. I heard him at the base of the tree. One of the older hunters at the camp shot yotes all the time. I went out and sat in a shooting house with him. He shot the first one into the field through the back legs where it couldn't walk. I felt bad for the thing and was going to finish it off. Directly it's pack members were in the field trying to kill it. We shot 3 of those. According to him the pack leader was the one in the field first. When it was wounded the others moved in to kill it and take it's spot.

interesting , not sure if that theory will hold water ,but pack mentality is odd from a human standpoint ,one thing for certain though the dumping of bunches of dead hogs all over the place produces unlimited food supplies for them if they so feel the need to have a bit of pork . we just got a call that has 12 different "voices" on it ,male yotes ,female yotes, yote pups ,fawns, woodpeckers ,cottontails, jack rabbits and etc etc etc .
it is about super nice for sure ,long range remote and remote volume and it is loud as heck .
stay tuned , we is highly likely to employ said device soon and ....some .....
    KABOOM to go with ....

They get call shy pretty quick in my experience. Those calls that have the fur or feathers on a stick that activates with the sound keeps them a little more interested a little longer

told my bud that , only the young ones and them dumb foxes run in like wild fire , the older dogs and bobcats are real sly .
also told him must move lots and not use the same call often , yotes are pretty smart critters .
and watch your head at night , bought had mine taken off one time by a huge great horned owl , had to go change my undies after that hunt
