    start with live bait , move to jigs when they are really on fire to learn how to jig .
    dropping a jig properly can be tricky , dropping a minnow not so much , just saying .
    AND most always less is better on the movement down below

    They can be finicky fish. If you can figure out what they want you can put them in the boat

    Hard to beat the float and fly when starting to jig fish. Set the jig at your desired depth under the float, cast out and retrieve slowly or with a stop and go retrieve. Lots of crappie get caught on this method
