I use a "7½ foot BnM Crappie Wizard". It has more of parabolic curve to it, rather than a rod which is all tip. I'd be glad to lend it to you to try. I am not using it at present.
Several years ago I bought a 7 foot Shakespeare ultralight casting rod from a company in CA that no longer exists. It was not expensive but i was very surprised and very pleased with it. I'm looking for a source of medium priced ultralight or light action casting rods for panfish client use. I use Zebco Z02 spincast push button reels for redears and bluegills.

M.R.Dux, contact D 10 on the Arkansas chapter. He is a biologist with the Arkansas Game & Fish. He does a lot of canoe floats on small streams in Arkansas.
He was researching the same thing a year or two ago. I am sure he will not mind sharing his research with you.

Three options:
1) New Eagle Claw
Eagle Claw Brave Eagle Rods
2) Vintage model from Ebay
3) Find a spincast combo at BP or Cabela's. Toss the reel and use yours. Here's one from Shakespeare:
Shakespeare Synergy(R) Steel Spincast Combo
– Pure Fishing(R)

I think I paid mid-$30s for the 7 foot Shakespeare. Just haven’t found one listed any more.
I try to provide good gear for clients but can’t afford top-of-the-line because of the way it gets treated.
I had somebody at Grizzly, may have been Mike Baker, asked me
why I was having to replace a rod tip? I asked him if he had ever had a client break 4 rods at once? I have!
