Really has nothing to do with brand names. It’s about finding a rod that works for you. I have a ton of light rods in the garage gathering dust and several more that I have sold on here because they don’t serve the function I need. If I had shipping tube laying around I would send the original poster some of the light ones so he could try and find one he likes. I personally have lost so many big fish over the years fumbling or turning to grab the net and losing control of the fish that I refuse to fish with a rod that will not comfortably swing a 2.5lb fish into the boat. Between the better rods available and years of experimenting with the right jigheads/jig hooks for different size baits, I now lose a lot less fish. Folks just have to find what fits their budget and needs.
