Default Natural Lake Crappie Seasonal Movement Patterns

Do not have much experience crappie fishing, and would like to have a better understanding of their Spring, Fall movement patterns. I fish natural lakes in the Northern Indiana Region, and am thinking crappies should be found in or around weed line structural breaks, like points and pockets. I’ve worked weedlines bases for bass & pike with success, but not too many crappie when working light jigs for them. What changes do I need to make when targeting crappies? Depths? Locations? Techniques?

    Thank you all in advance.

ice out up that way the fish will move to short water really quickly
start looking in short water as soon as the hard water leaves you
possibly near laydown timber or rock piles on the north end of the lake
work a jig under a float in the spring ...
short pops and drags followed by a few seconds of pause
sum kawl me tha outlaw ketchn whales
