Does the center console help Doug. When I get another boat I was thinking center console seems Like a better option than sitting down. What’s your opinion.

I love everything about all 3 of the center console Excel Bay Pros I’ve used. I owned the first 2. My only issue is my degenerative bone issue in my back and neck going forward. For guiding and trolling, the center console allows me to use every inch of the gunnels to position rod holders for my cranks, longlining or even cat fishing. Standing allows me instant response when a client hooks a fish or hangs up. My set-up on the current 230 with the Helix10 for strictly mapping with the LakeMaster card and the Helix12 above it on 2D/DI 90% of the time let me follow my trolling paths and see bait/crappie that might be suspended or in cover.
The only reason I’m considering a sit-down type boat is my 2 replaced knees and spinal lumbar fusion.

You got to do what you got to do. I have a new hip....new knee....need another knee....and have been told I need spinal fusion. Just not going there with the spine yet. Without some type of suspension seat in my stick steer boat I would have sold it a month after buying it. It was brutal at speed. I don’t think I will be buying another boat. But I won’t say never. If I do get another boat.....be it tiller....stick steer....or console wheel steer......I will have a suspension seat in it. My nephew has a new trout boat.....very comfortable seats in it....at rest. I won’t fish with him in that boat. At a speed of only 20 MPH a small wake kills the back. That’s why if we fish together it is in my boat.....no worries about the back in the suspension seat.

    Regards
