    Default Slip ,Bobber

I buy bobber stops from Cabelas. They are sold in bunches of 40, according to line size. I put on a bobber stop and adjust it to whatever depth I want. Next add a bead then the slip bobber then a torpedo weight that slides on the line. Next is a barrel swivel. To the bottom of the barrel swivel, I use a snelled hook which will go through the swivel and then the loop at the end of the snell, pull tight, it's tied on. Also good if you are a poor knot tyer. The snell line strength is less than the main line, so that if I get hung, pull steady and the snell line will usually break, tie on another snell and you are back in business without loosing your float, lead, bead, etc. I hate to have to chase down a float after breaking off. This method has kept that to a minnimum. Hope this helps.

I also like the bb's in the float idea and have been mentioning it in almost all of my posts. It is the neatest idea since sliced bread and it really works. It is like the old "Tell-a-bobbber" idea we used in Ohio with wooded bobbers. I really believe in it. My catch rate has trippled since switching to this type of float. That looks like it will work. I have tried tying string to no avail. After I use up the 20 yr supply of the pretied knots I bought last yr. I'm going to give that a try. Right when you think you have learned everything you could possibly know about the fine art of crappie fishing, you read another thread and lo and behold..you learn something else!!

The tie a line (knot) for a adjustable stop never appealed to me because ,if you need to adjust the depth you are fishing, when you slide your knot up or down the line,it will curl the main-line and on the hook set you will have more slack due to the curled line.I think it acts like a spring.JMHO
