I for one always leave when someone comes around being loud or having radio on. Exact opposite of why I'm out there. I want the peace and quiet, life is loud enough!

I understand that. The solitude is nice. I have tennittis, constant ringing in my ears. In the absence of noise, the ringing sounds like a jet liner and never goes away. Worst in a tent on a dead calm night. I have good hearing. I can hear a mouse fart from two feet away. But the constant ringing will drive you crazy. I keep a radio on extremely low volume to mask the ringing. And when camping I try to bring a snorer, or someone with a CPAP machine.

Great observations while fishing. Definitely something to think about. Nice catch also.

I put the stereo in the boat to listen to the ball game while fishing and for music while the grandkids swim. Usually I'm so intent on fishing I couldn't tell you who's playing, the inner or score.

Well, they say dogs like soft rock, so I would start with that.

we used to play music in the boat at night rather loud about 40 years ago at lake fork with no one around but us and use lights and ketch hundreds of crappie all night long , we even joked about what music they liked best
back then it was thought you couldn't ketch crappie on jigs at night as well and we used black and chart jigs to save money on minnows
we even made the local fishing reports from the marina we hit every morning to gas up and get breakfast
AND that's when I first started hearing how full of it I was btw

When sight fishing a loud noise would spook them but they would swim right back where they started within 45 seconds.

Up here in the great white north early spring when the ice first goes off I notice shallow fish being skitzy when it comes to noise. Seems like more people get on the water that tendency goes away. I believe it is from the ice and the underwater world being much quieter during ice periods. When swimming in the summer I can here all kinds of noise underwater boats etc.

It is quite likely some fish adjust to noisy environments in my opinion as well . Heavy traffic lakes in summer seem to have what was mentioned going on for sure .
