I understand that. The solitude is nice. I have tennittis, constant ringing in my ears. In the absence of noise, the ringing sounds like a jet liner and never goes away. Worst in a tent on a dead calm night. I have good hearing. I can hear a mouse fart from two feet away. But the constant ringing will drive you crazy. I keep a radio on extremely low volume to mask the ringing. And when camping I try to bring a snorer, or someone with a CPAP machine.
