    I'm so sorry to hear of this loss. Having gone through this with both my parents and most of my older relatives... I am very familiar with the mental and spiritual trauma that the loss of a love one brings. I know there are never any right words for a time like this... except that his legacy will live on in you and his memories will always warm you just like the sun on a winter's day on the lake. I'm also sorry I don't know you any better than I do... although I have read your posts and feel like I have come to know and like you over the last decade or so.

    One thing is certain to me, as if I do know you: Your dad raised a solid, respectful and caring son... who will always cherish and be thankful to God for every precious memory that you will always have of him and every moment that you shared together.

    Prayers and condolences for you, family and friends who share and comfort one another through the feelings of his passing.
    Best of luck with your upcoming surgery... (although it surely must be the worst timing EVER), and may you have a speedy and full recovery.
