When it comes to fishing... I believe the more avid of an angler you are the more variables you include into each trip. (i.e wind+barometric pressure+ temps+moon phase+water clarity+light penetration+etc...). These also interchange of course, which can change the impact on each variable individually, but if you really pay attention to the science, you could easily think about 32 different variables before you even make your first cast that will all have an effect on fishing success. Example: Moon phase, crappie are very light sensitive, so on sunny days and full moon nights, crappie are likely to feed all night in the northern natural lakes, but down south in the turbid water it won't have as much of an effect. New moon, crappie usually feed more in the day time... however if you're fishing under and light at night with a low approaching, you will likely have more success. If your fishing in the ocean, a super moon can really mess with the tides, so moon phase means a great deal in the ocean. A good rule of thumb is the clearer the water, the bigger then impact (in fresh water).
