Me and Cray tried pulling my mini Opti boards last summer with my PST rods, they are to limber in my opinion. You can use any old cheap medium heavy or better rods, I bought some from Academy Sports for like $12 an worked fine for planers.

Running the Original and the Magnum boards pulling 1/16oz and 1/8oz jigs using 8ft, and 10ft PST rods, I also use 14ft Jenko Spider Trolling rods.

I run mostly Magnum boards because I feel like they are a better all around board.
