I really love nature. Back when I use to hunt, I think I slept more laying beside trees than I actually hunted. I quit hunting and started fishing and absolutely fell in love with the sport. I still sleep most times on my back seat everytime I go. Sometimes I wonder while fishing in the winter, what in the heck am I doing out here?
I really don't care if I catch fish ,I just love it. We all know how the bite can be at times. One better learn how to deal with it if they catch nothing.
So to plagiarize. "Success is the ability to go from one failure to another without loss of enthusiasm".

I enjoyed reading all the responses here. As fellow fishermen and women it does seem that we all do somewhat think alike. I posted this after a fishing trip with my wife. We spent almost a whole day on the lake just relaxing. We did catch some fish, but when the day was over all we could talk about was how much we just enjoyed being out there. We were tired, but it was a good tired. One spot we fished had an Osprey nest close by. At first the Osprey kept yelling at us because they had babies in the nest. After being there for a while it was like they didn't care anymore. The last thing I remember, which we both laughed about, was when we were wrapping up the rods the adult Osprey were standing on the edge of the nest watching us. As I got in my seat to crank the motor, they started squawking at us as if to say, "See you next time."
We enjoyed every minute of this particular trip to the lake. Next week my wife has to have surgery due to a recent diagnosis of breast cancer. This trip was our way to put this behind us, albeit just a day or two. At 40 years old she is too young to have to go through this, but we deal with what life gives us. She should be OK after the surgery, but we can't help but think of the "What if?'
I posted about this on the Georgia forum and could not get over the responses I received. I have found my support right here on crappie.com. Although I haven't met but a few on here, I now feel like this is my go to place when things get tough. I want to Thank all those who sent prayers and kind words. I will not forget this in the least bit.

I thought you coined this phrase Pox.
Success, the unrelenting struggle.

Jim Manz,
Prayers on the way for you and yours.
Jim, Our prayers to you and your wife from Kansas!
Jim; I have to re-submit my answer to success. Success will be the thread you send back saying that your wife is doing great and is completely over the cancer. This will let us know that we've had success in our prayers. Best of luck to you both!
