I have wondered the same thing. I like to leave the plastic jigs in bags, but I think it would help me if I were to to go a craft store and buy some smaller zip lock style bags to put the jigs in, instead of the usually oversized original packs.
For now, the way I organize is with Glad brand bags. The ones with the easy to pull piece of plastic that seals the bag up as you pull it. I use large gallon size bags and quart size bags. I label 3 - gallon size bags "Bright", "Dark", and "Natural". Then on the quart bags I label "straight tail", "curly tail", "paddle tail", or "skirt tail". Next I sort the "tail" styles into the quart bags based on "bright", "dark", or "Natural" Colors. And finally I put all the general color quart bags such as, "bright" (each quart bag of tail styles I consider "bright) into the "bright" gallon bag, all "dark" styles in the "dark" gallon bag, and all "natural" styles" in the "natural" gallon bag. So general color is the main bag, and each main bag contains smaller bags based on type of tails.
Crap.... now that sounds like a lot of work after I typed it out. I use an academy soft sided bag (medium sized) I keep 2-3 plastic boxes in it with corks and terminal tackle, and the gallon bags in the rest of it. However, if I were to find some good smaller plastic bags to put the jigs in, I would probably still use this system, but save space with the smaller bags and use the original stuff as "stock" to refill as needed and not have to carry along all the time. If you smush the air out of the bags good, it makes the gallon bags much thinner and saves space. Holy cow....Maybe I need a better system

I use the Plano waterproof boxes. Keeps my jigsheads and bodies dry plus I keep my jig bodies from drying out. No moisture in and no moisture out!

The search for the perfect tackle container. 63 years old and still have not found it! Will keep searching, I like everyone's ideas and have used many of them over the years, but alas none are "the perfect one". If someone has the ideal storage system they have been using for many years, please post, maybe it is the "perfect system".
