LOL....at least a million.....give or take a million
I'd have to say well under 1000. I have had a few years where I've caught about 300 off one tree or brushpile. Best day last year was a 40 fish day of nice slabs planning on releasing all of them until my fishing buddies wife called and said she was hungry for crappie. Ended up keeping 8 that day.

I catch at least 100 every day I go. unless I have any witnesses.
Crappie bite twice a day. 15 minutes before I get there and 10 minutes after I leave.
The two loudest sounds are a gun that goes bang when it is supposed to go click and one that goes click when it is supposed to go bang.

Boy! You guys must have it figured out. I'm not new to fishin but have been trying to target crappie since last year and aquiring a boat. I fish a 9000 acre lake that has good size crappie but have probably caught 100 dinks from some smaller lakes. Really struggling at the bigger lake. This morning throwing a bandit 300 and a pink/chartreuse roadrunner found several and ended up with only 2 keeper crappie along with the stray catfish and small mouth.
I was happy! At least getting on a few crappie at this lake. I dont care about keeping that many really but sure will be happy when I can catch and release a limit anytime I wanted! I better boat would probably help but I'll have to figure it out with what I got!
I enjoy reading the comments and sure have learned a lot from this site.
Happy fishing !

Well, I've caught over at least a 1000 so far this year, kept 300 mostly 10.5 to 15" as we eat crappies twice a week and when famliy is over. Still fishing so I don't count, but we can keep 25 a day in Indiana so right now it only takes me 3-4 hrs to keep a limit if I am on my game.

I don't fish as much as I would like, but I go about 25 times a year I would guess, and probably average 20 each time I go. So that's about 500 in a year. I only keep them when someone is with me that wants some, or if I want to cook them that night. I usually pick out about 7 of the biggest ones to keep. That seems about right for my family. I have nothing against people keeping a limit, I just don't like cleaning them every time. The lake I fish used to have way too many in it and you could catch 100, but they would be 9". A few years ago, the water was lowered down so that only the original creek bed was left so they could work on the dam. It stayed that way over a year. Most of the fish washed through the dam I think. Now, the fishing is much better in my mind. I don't catch as many, but the average has gone up to about 11" and several will be 14"+. I think its good for the lake to keep some of the fish to keep them from getting over populated.
