How many spider riggers use a bead on your rod tip?

Never heard of either one of these ideas - have used the idea of putting finger tips on tops of rods at the butts - can feel hit just prior to
rod moving................This i know works - had old timer show me this idea 30 yr ago
Will give the bead idea a go...............makes sense - if fishing bead "glass" or plastic - what size is it ? also do the plastic craft beads
have a size?

Will give it a try - at 75 my hearing is starting to fade just a little - the touch on rod butts helps me quite a bit

I use plastic about 3/8ths inch diameter

Buffalo13 told me about the beads a few years ago. I have caught several fish, I would have missed because I had the beads on my poles.

I watched the video on the link but it's hard to see how he has it rigged. Can you just run the main line thru a few beads or do you have to tie in the separate line. I have a hard time detecting soft bites when they are deep and I am hoping this can help out.

I just run my main line through one bead between the second and third eye, counting the tip as one.
