Use a slip bobber and don't put a lot of weight on the line and 6#-8# line. Directions are on the bobber package. I use slip bobbers that wash up on the banks around the house. Best that washes up are the thiils, but any slip rig will do the job.
can some one show me how to rig bobber that lays flat when crappie bite-up any pics would be greatly appreciated!
Tanks!

I think your looking for a Float & Fly bobber, however they are round and not a stick float. Check Punisher Lures listed in the site under float and fly. If I remember right they are for a 1/16 jig head. You can also do a Utube search to see how this bobber works. A few vids on the float and fly. This bobber is designed to roll up when a fish pushes up on the jig.

Sorry I don't have any pictures but you take a slip float and use a hot needle or real small drill bit and make a hole at a 90 degree angle to the length of the float on the bottom end. Put your stop knot on the line, then run the line through the hole you made (not through the center of the slip float) and tie your rig and weight on below....when the fish lifts up the float will lay flat....they make a long float with a spring on the bottom end that holds you line in place, it does the same thing. I will see if I can find a link.
Man that's slick! nothin beats American ingenuity lol
that's great man Tanks from my heart!

Check out the above link....Shipahoy shares a lot of knowledge here on this site..page 1 Waggler set up.
I use a pear shaped slip cork.....it lays down nicely when a fish hits it when coming up.....I actually think most any cork would do that under those circumstances.....this is how I set mine up.....I used to use a hook with a leader attached to a swivel but now I just tie the hook at the end of my line....this set up shown is for using shiners and can also work OK for jigs....the tiny rubber football and pink plastic bead is called a "Bobber Stopper" and is available at Bass Pro Shop.....once you try these you will not use anything else......wet your line before adjusting it to reduce wear and make it slide easier....I replace the bead with one a little larger to prevent it from getting stuck in the first eye on the pole....
I always thought any bobber that wasn't weighted on the bottom would lay flat when a fish pushes it up.
