I bet, by the next time you head down to Watts Bar, you'll have a dozen or two of them in your tackle box :p

    Default Weedless

BPS sells a small clear rubber weed guard I can,t remember the name of them but it has a hole in one end that slides onto the jig-head then put on your plastic jig and the other end pushes onto your hook point and barb. The fish don,t seem to mind them or even notice them. It looks like a clear soft plastic tube.
It is not enough that a man should toil and provide, but that he be granted the pleasure of fishing with a friend.

and, in some cases, better than nothing. They are called "Stick Guards" .. made by "Laker". I've used them, but wasn't too impressed. They're pretty reliable for the first couple of times you embed the hook point into the end of the guard ... but, after a couple of fish or re-rigs (due to branches or whatever), they're torn enough on that plastic tip - so that the hook doesn't want to stay in good. Also, being a fairly limp plastic - - they are subject to ending up turned in towards the hook shank, and even though the hook point is covered, the guard isn't fending off any branches. That's why I like the weedguards to be a bit more "stout", if you get my drift.

I am using a 3/32 oz wedless jighead with the brush weedguard just started this spring so far it has been worked well not losing very many jigs at all, also havent noticed missing any fish. I tried the jigheads due to this past winter I placed 20 new brushpiles and they are easy to hang but I cant complain they have been producing some nice fish.
