Man them are all some big fish! Thought they were pretty rare. Some people act like they used to be on every stump 30 year ago.
I got 2 over 3 lbs first one was 3.2 white caught below the Guntersville lodge motel in 20 ft. of water fishing old stump beds. The second came from north salty fishing at night 3.4 oz. was a black male. That was over 16 year ago I caught my last mount. Those 3 pounder's are very rare.

Several years ago while living in Pearl, Mississippi, I caught 12 crappie one morning and weighted the best five. Those five weighed 14lbs and 14 oz.
I had caught hundreds off that area, but never a small group of big'uns like that.
2.75 lbs is my best.
Had a 2.9 lb at Weiss Lake about 10 years ago. Left it in the minnow tank at a local bait shop overnight to recuperate. Went back the next morning and put him back in the lake.
... yeah, but I bet they were eyeball weighed back then, too
I've never caught a verified 3lb Crappie ... but, KY waters do have them (& larger).
Back in the 70's I "think" I caught a 3lb Crappie TWICE ... same spot, consecutive days, and "long distance released" it both times ... trying to swing it in the boat with a 10' collapsible pole & 15lb braid/8lb mono leader, fishing the buck brush at Barkley Lake ... and overcompensated for the weight & swung it clear over the boat (& off the hook), both times.
... cp
3lb 3 oz , 17.25 inches at nadar last year during camp. It was the first fish I ever caught at nadar. we had 7 fish that day that weighed over 17

One 17 1/2" at 3.25 lbs. from my neighbors pond. Took 65 years to do it. Caught on a black/chart plastic. Wish it had been on one of my "watermelon wine" BGBS.
Caught it in the spring 2 years ago. Photo somewhere in the archives. Caught a number of 15 & 16's, but the 3 lb. club is hard to get into.

May have caught some years ago that would have went over 3 but since I have set my goal to catch a 3 lb crappie (and verify the weight), I can't seem to get one in the boat. I have caught a 2.99 and a 2.98 (both weighed on tournament scales) with several 2.75-2.80 but have never had one take the scales to or over 3...
