You are exactly right. I tried the Bubba Blade filet knife based on reviews and the You Tube video of a crappie guide using the knife and found I had sharper butter knives than that piece of junk. Took it back to BPS for a full refund.

I've been using the Rapala Ion cordless knife for a few months and it's real handy. It'll clean 30 fish on a charge. I bought a spare battery just in case, but I haven't needed it except when I clean a couple of days fish.

In spite of fear of driving up demand and doubling the price....the Black-Decker-Slice-Right-Electric-Knife for crappie/panfish/whitebass/perch/small catfish. Wallyworld. They're $10 on line and about $13 in the store. A guide put me onto them. He'd been using his with the same set of blades for 2 years and he said he cleans a lot of crappie. He was cleaning 120 the day he told me about them. My Mr. Twister is now only a backup and soon to be 2nd backup to another B&D primary backup.

Search you tube for Josh Gowan from Grizzly Jig. He has a video on cleaning crappie and he talks about the new American Angler knife.
