i would say just get the hull number if you can, and give f&w a call and let them know you suspect they are keeping illegal fish, if they do it today, then they will do it tomorrow and it will catch up with them eventually.

Like someone else said, I'm usually too preoccupied with trying to catch fish myself to be paying attention to what some guy across the way is throwing into his livewell. With that being said though, if I witness a blatant violation or someone who repeatedly ignores size limits, etc, I'm calling. I'll never confront another though. Like a few folks here have said, too many people shoot first and ask questions later.

Take a picture of their boat including registration # and give it to you're GW. They might not catch them right then but they will be aware and check them when they load out at the ramp some day. If they are breaking the law, they get caught, if they are not they go on their merry way. They and what I call slob hunters give all anglers and hunters a black eye. We have enough trouble with regulations, tree huggers and other extremists trying to take our rights away. If they are wrong they need to be held accountable.

Just a few lines to tell why these guys bother me so. I lived in snow bird central for a lot of years and had the St Johns river in easy reach. After fishing one day I stopped for a bite at a place where locals gather and there were 3 old guys talkin fishin so I kept eating and opened my ears. As the conversation went on the one guy says"yeah, I'm really loading up on em. I got my 50(the limit at the time) by about 10 and went to the camper, put em on ice, and went back for more". It seems that during their stay they would load up the freezer on their porch and come spring they would unload the freezer, put the freezer in the back of the truck and reload it and plug it back in. Then the next morning they go back home to the "big spring fish fry". It was all I could do to hold my tongue. I made the call to fish and wildlife and never heard anything more. Too many violations and too few officers. This guy wasn't the only one doing this. Some folks can turn the other way, but I can't without doing what I can first.
