    Thumbs up

welcome from the great state of Mississippi. you might try going to the Crappie.com home page and clicking on Articles & Tips. makes for some good reading. right now everyone is going through the nail biting stage of waiting on the fall feeding spree, which should make your creek an o.k. spot when they start to move in shallow after shad and minnows. Beetle spins, horsehead jigs, and tiny spinnerbaits could be used to locate them when the water temp. drops down to about 65 degrees. these guys and gals are most helpful with offering advice and help to a beginner, and they know what they're talking about. lol

Welcome from Mississippi. Try deeper. Here they are running anywhere from 6-14 feet deep depening on the time of day and local weather fronts. Don't give up.
