For some reason the fish I catch don't sit still during the unhooking procedure like the ones in his video. Most of the time I'm trying to prevent the hook from springing out and getting in MY finger.

Take a skinnie cheap flat screwdriver and cut a split in it and slide it to the curve part of hook and hold line with same hand and it will pop out. It is best to get a screwdriver that is about 6 inches ,more or less. I still use the screwdriver for quick light turning screws, too lazy to go to tool box and get another screwdriver that is already in boat. I cut slot with my handigrinder but can be done with hack saw.

There is the Ketchum release, which work well, but a bit pricy at around twenty bucks. Basically its a handle with a looped rod you put over the line and follow it down to the hook. Google them. Me? I generally just cut the line on a deep hooked fish. Stats say they are more likely to survive the hook till it rusts away than the damage we do trying to remove it. And if you roll you own, jigs and flies are cheap.

I bought two and love them. They are slim at the end, so they can get under small jigs and flies. They also hold onto the hook (loosely), so you don't end up rehooking the fish as you try to take the dislodged hook out of the mouth.

Just don't leave it in contact with soft plastic lure bodies, which can partially melt the padded grip.

    Home made hook removers.

Item in last picture is a commercially made remover purchased about 40 years ago.

I like that flycaster, very good idea. Think I'll do that. Thanks for the post and pictures.
