Sounds like you are blowing out in the water. A four blade will help on take off but will hurt top end. A prop shop can change the pitch on the prop you have and would be cheaper than buying a new prop. If you have a good repair shop they might loan you a different pitch prop to try and see what pitch you need. My son-inlaws boat was doing the same thing and pitch was his problem put another prop on ran like a different boat. Cub48

We need your current prop measurements (pitch and diameter) and your RPMs at WOT to determine the right prop. I went through this with my 1994 Johnson 115 two years ago and learned a lot about what my boat liked in the way of a prop during that time. I have a three blade for fishing and a four blade for tubing but need some data before I can start pointing you in the right direction.

Find a prop manufacture , go on line and they will have a prop selection chart for your boat and motor combo. You are about to open up a can of worms and it is not necessary.

ok so i talked to a supposed prop guru, whom happens to own a shop that sells and repairs props..........he said 5500 RPMs at wot is perfect for my motor, and i wouldnt want to go any higher or lower as far as RPMs........ his recommendation is to stay with a 21 pitch, but get the aluminum prop off and replace it with a stainless...... he's sayin a 13-7/8 X 21 in a stainless should be a fair improvement over aluminum.......2 to 4mph top speed increase is not out of the question, but certainly not a guarantee.......he said hole shot would be better for sure........ he said he has new old stock viper props (made for that type of motor) in a 13-7/8 x 21 or a raker prop in a 14 (I think) x 21 pitch (im sure on the pitch)......both props are stainlees compared to my aluminum and bigger over all diameter........ guess i need to do mre researchand reading honestly, but he seems to be pretty honest and know what hes talking about...........

I have been having issues myself that hopefully have been worked out but will share something I found. If you go to another shop they will have a different opinion alot of the time. If he wants to sell you a prop he should be willing to let you try it out or at least be willing to exchange for another one if that one dont suit, pretty common-place with prop shops because they know that EVERY boat is different and you may be loading it diffeent too.
    Good luck
