I even searched for "crappie" and got no results on a crappie fishing website.

WHY would the search function be turned off, it only leads to the same question being asked over and over again (there is enough of that as it is) . I know its easier to just ask the same question again & again rather than "searching" for it for some people, but you never know what you'll find when you're not looking for it.

    OH ...THAT search feature !!

... works for me, but very limited in results. I tried it, using the keyword "boat" on this forum, and it came back with only 3 threads.

I've also noticed that when you use the profile function to "view forum posts" ... you only get a page (5-6 threads), where you used to get all of your past posts, back several years.

Maybe Ed has put limiters on some of the search features or data logs ?? He's busy catching up on the store orders, and Admin. mgmt. of the site, after having been gone to Crappie Camps for the last few weeks .... but, you might want to send him a PM about this problem, anyway, since he may not get around to seeing this thread for awhile.

The Regular search (the Google Search), works fine. It's that Advanced Search that does not work. I know about it. The Search Index needs to be rebuilt. It became corrupt, and since it's so big, it needs a couple days to run to rebuild it. I chose to empty it completely for now and to rebuild it later. Since it's the Spring fishing season, I figured it would be best to not have the index rebuild run through our nightly peak periods where the server is already strained. I'll fix it in two or three weeks, when I get back from a couple Crappie Camps I plan on attending, and hopefully we'll have lower peak usage on here which will allow the rebuild to run over the course of a couple days.
