Went out Saturday on Lake Michigan out of Waukegan Harbor. Had a blast! Ed, we will have to do this sometime together for sure!

Man, I miss fishing lake michigan with my brother and brother-in-law. Used to fish out of Michigan City In., and New Buffalo Mi. Miss those days, biggest thing I can catch here are the stripers, and they only average about 5-6 pounds.

Those are some nice fish! Not like the Chinook we get over here but I would love to get into some salmon right now. Do you get anything in the 40# range in the Great Lakes?
I love taking my kids fishing, now if I could just manage to fish at the same time.

The biggest I seen caught here was 25lbs. I think they'll go over 30lbs, bot not sure about 40lbs. A couple 20lb Chinook Salmon will completely wear you out! Better set the drag right.

Sounds like some lighter gear fun to me! My biggest out here was 57# and an hour and 45 minutes on 12# test. Open water like the GL makes it even more fun chasing them around I bet.
