Depends on how I'm fishing. but most times 8 rods 10 to 16ft long and 4 hooks per rod.

8 poles usually. It can get to be work at times but that means your catching lots of fish.

When my partner and I are at full bloom we have 22 rods out. On average 18 rods. We go through h**l when we hang a steak bed!:D

I use only one. Out here in Cali Land we have to pay extra to use another pole.

It can get fun when Fishing Reel Foot lake. There has been times when I would have 2 on one rod in the holder and 2 on a rod between my legs and the one in my hands with 2 on it. Now that is fun.Originally Posted by anchorpuller

In Minnesota only one is allowed during open water season and icefishing you can have 2.Seems more restrictive here compared to the southern states.

One pole with one hook is all I ever need on my lakes.
I have been able to catch a lmit a few times and catch 10 to 15 fish most times when I concentrate on holding the pole and watching the tip of the pole. If you are not holding the pole you may miss some bites and not set the hook fast enough. It's how quickly you set the hook not how hard when it comes to catching crappie with paper mouths.

Most of the time its only 1 each..Few and far between fishing trips that we have not caught our limit...I like to think there will be at least a few crappie in the lake for us to come back and get next time!!!
