Northland makes a really good Mimic minnow (2") which is day in and day out what i catch the most fish with. Tubes work very well for me. I have found that the best thing to do is have a big variety and keep trying different lures until something works, never get "stuck in a rut".

Grey hair jig is top choice. favorite tube is blk/chrt. There are SO many good colors out there and at times it really makes a difference. What you have confidence in is what really matters in my opinion. Believe in it and you fish it more thorough.

Best day-to-day starter colors for me is chart shad (green and black with chart tail) and blue/black with chart tail. I fish curly tail grubs longlining in nothing but stained water. I also keep a spread of different colors out...90% or more with chart tails and the rest with clear tails. I let the fish tell me which color theyre wanting that day and once I establish that I'll change out a few colors to what theyre biting the most. If one rod catches 3 or 4 fish before the others catch fish I'll change a couple out to what they bit.Thumbs Up The hot color can change several times during an all day trip though...just gotta pay attention.

Black and chartreuse on a weedless hair jig. With chartreuse so poplar, does anyone use just plain chartreuse?

So far in my limited experience, the best thing I've found is a white/chartreuse with chartreuse tail, but I haven't been at it very long at all.

Orange jig head and Black 2" twister tail was our best producer when using artificials.
