I like under 12" for frying, and 13" and over for baken. Those thick Mississippi slabs are great on the grill.
The size that's legal in the state I'm in. Ha Ha No under sized crappie.

Always shoot for the moon, if you miss you'll still be among the stars.
11-12" deep fried
anything over 10'' gets eaten... anything under 4'' gets to be flathead bait (always keep a cat poll with me and some Cat rigs )
if I'm deep frying I love 8"-10" fish If I'm baking or grilling them the bigger the better 13"-15"
The bigger and thicker the better for me. My wife likes the small ones.
Hmmm.....12"..16"...you guys must not eat many bluegill...If you don't you are missing out on some good fish... Personally I like crappie 9 to 12 inches, no worries about having to cut them into smaller pieces, just fillet em 'n' deep fry em, I don't discriminate against 15 inch crappie, if I'm taking fish home and he gets in the way then I'll invite him to go home with me for supper but for the most part I'm like crappie addict, they all taste the same to me, if I'm in the mood for fish and I'm catching 7" crappie them babies are going home with me.
Whatever size I catch if I'm fish hungry.

I am like most of U , I like 10" - 12" for fillets, 7"-9" I like to fry whole. We usually have several folks over to eat when we fry fish so I need to keep most of what I catch, however I do throw the babies back.
