I would say any thing over 3 lbs. will turn a few beads where I fish. I have only heard of a couple of 4s, and one 5 lbs er. I know Iwould be happy with a 3 + Slab.

I know thay were well over 5 pounds. That was in like 1970,Man those thing's were some kind of big.She did not know it was agents the law at the time untill I told here year's later, lol she like to fell out. She's never even had a ticket. All 4 fish would not fit in the kitchen sink.Dont know if any photo were taking,I dont think so. I will dig in the old box's and see what I can find.I was to young.I think that's going to be one of those once in a life time thing's.

Here in Arkansas where I live, anything over 2 1/2 lbs will bring quite a few looks.
I fish a lot in Mississippi though and it pretty well takes a crappie over 3 lbs to get a little attention and anything in the 4 lb range will drop jaws.

Attached is a pic of 2 good ones that came out of Mississippi. These 2 fish are laying on top of a 48 quart cooler.
