Cf, black crappie prefer a more acidic PH (below 7.0) while the white crappie prefer more of a alkaline PH (above 7.0). Optimal for both would be between 6.5-8.2. Lethal ranges would be below and beyond the 4.6-9.5 range. There are many good digital Ph meters out there, but are very expensive. Don't see the point of one for fishing situations. A good fish finder would be more helpful. Dave.
