I wouldnt mind seeing a forum like this, I fish for Hybrid White Bass and White Bass on the Ohio river in the tail races of dams and if you have ever caught a river Hybrid and a regular White Bass you would have the bug. I target them in the spring and Crappie in the spring. I found for me nothing beets a bucktail for them in what ever oz that prefer to throw and ad a Horse Head jig with spinner and hair and that is just pure deadly on them. Beleave it or not Chicken Liver is great for them. I like jigs with white as my number one and chart as my second. I dont know much about lake white bass but I do know I think my fair share in river systems. I do know for in the river when the water reaches 55 degrees it is game on these fish will be in close in current breaks, eddies, etc. When the water reaches 65 to 70 degrees now this is fishing below a big river dam, these fish follow the bait out in the current and usually have to break out my bigger rods and lures. But when rivers flood or have high water these fish will pull up on the banks. If you want to know of a great and I mean great top water lure look up an item called The Launcher this big float type of thing I tye to my braid on the barrel swivel and a heavy peace of mono on the bottom of the barrel swivel to keep it from tangling in the braid when you cast. You can rig the mono with hook, jig, with the plastics of choice you like. So all you do is cast it out in the current like at gates or hydro's of dams and keep it floating and hang on. If any one was ever to purchase The launcher I always tape the bottom of the float so the weight dont fall off. Another trick is to cut the bottom of a shotgun shell and feed it on the bottom and tape it up for extra weight for casting distance and maybe dump alittle shot out of the shell. This way of the shell also provides alittle bit of a rattle noise. If the shell doesnt fit you needs you can also tape a oval sinker to the bottom, one thing about the shotgun shell I like is the rattle and it flies stater for me. Sorry for the long post but I always have alot of fun with these fish. As for the Striper forum I would post about them but you may only catch one a year or so out of the Ohio River where I fish, Ky, and Ohio stock it plum full of Whites and Hybrids.Thumbs Up

I love catching white bass. Nothing beats idling back into a cove and all the sudden the water is exploding around you as a school of big white bass
start slamming shad at the surface. Fish are splashing everywhere, the shad are being tossed into the air, and every cast you make into the melee
gets hit like a freight train. Crap, now I got myself all worked up.
