I have one and i welded all them suckers up, dont have a drop of water in my boat now, but if yours dont leak i wouldnt worry about it either. I have never heard that the rivits add flexability, i just thought it was a cheap way to make a john boat. All welded boats are way better quality and more expensive. But i am a young gun thats still wet behind the ears, lol:D gotta lot to learn im sure

If they were rivited, it lends some flexability to the boat,is what I should have said.Welded boats are the best, but they are all continouse welded. Not just in a couple of spots, lol. Can't wait to just get this thing DONE !!

    Hey Az,
I have been watching your progress and you got that baby looking good. I am curious about the rollers on the trailer. That has to be very difficult to load that way. I have rebuilt a lot of boats and the way we do trailers on john boats is to lay 2 carpeted 2 x 4 bunk boards down the trailer so they line up between the bottom runners. Looks like to me the rollers maybe causing a lot of stress on just a small part of the bottom. The boards help to distribute the load a lot more even. The boards also lower the loading height and make it easier to load. Here are some bunk brackets. We also put 2 side boards on the sides pretty close to make loading very easy.Trailer Parts Depot - Light Duty Flat Bunk Brackets | Trailer Parts | TrailerPartsDepot.com Hope this helps and it is only a suggestion.Take care and get that thing in the water soon.......Ifish

PS. Your pictures are really looking good!!

Thanks ifish,it has two 2 x 6's on the rear that tilt when the boat goes on,lol.I did'nt carpet them yet.I was looking at that pic also and thought how fun it would be after a day of fishing to put that center rib in the middle of that roller also.Ha.Taking pictures of boats is easier then pics of jigs.Same camera, boat pics look like it is a special camera compared to the jig pics, lol.

I'll have some great pics on Saturday night.I'm rolling on the steelflex Saturday morning. Then it goes back on the trailer and the mods begin inside of it.I've been waiting on shipped stuff for a week now, lol.I've been rebuilding a 1969 Evinrude 9.5 for the trout lakes for a couple of weeks now. It's also almost done.It started but ran like crap, not now, lol. You'll see.
