I usually have just limited time so I usually just go to the closest which is about 15 min. If I'm limited on time then I would rather take time fishing than driving.
Usually about 5 minutes. There are there small lakes within 5 min. of my front door, and several larger lakes within 2 hours.

My closest lake is 1 1/2 hours but most are 2 1/2 to 3 hours. Then sometimes it another half to one hour by boat to the best spots. The lakes are 40 to fifty miles long but only have boat ramps at one end at two of the lakes. The other two lakes that we fish have three ramps on one and many on the other. Now we have invasive species check stations so that takes another half hour.

most days 1 1/2 hours on way, truman 2and1/2 hrs, 3 trips to mississippi a year 7hrs one way
The lakes I fish consistantly are anywhere from 5 mins to 2 hours away.

There's nothing like feeling that THUMP...FISH ON
3-4 times a year I make a 2h 15m drive one way. My usual spot is 45m, home to on the water.

.... 45mins to 2hrs (one way) to fish for a day. Most local lakes I would fish are about 1.5hrs drive (one way) .... with some of the better ones being 2hrs to 4hrs away. When it's "primetime" ... the 2hr trips aren't all that bad. Those trips that would take over 2hrs, however, are generally left for long weekend adventures.

The farthest I go from home is about 12 miles

Crappie bite twice a day. 15 minutes before I get there and 10 minutes after I leave.
