Thank You Crappie Pappy , This must be the bridge my brother-in-law was talking about. I'll certainly have to try it and see.
Welcome aboard Papajohn,
I fish Eufaula on a regular bases and I've never herd of or found a submerged RR bridge. That doesn't mean it's not there. A lot of times things like this are closely graded secrets
I believe there are some submerged bridge on some of the many old road beds but I don''t know where any are. They're probably marked as culverts on the map. I'll be glad to ask around and post my findings for you. Unless I'm warned not to, of course :D
Check out my reply post, just two posts above yours ... OK, it's not a railroad bridge, but it is a submerged bridge. Only way to determine if there is a submerged "railroad" bridge, is to look for old railroad tracks that intersect the lake (or creek in the lake) ... and/or check the maps from before the lake was impounded.
In any event, a submerged bridge of any sort is a fish haven ... and any legal means necessary, to find the whereabouts of such a thing, should be taken. (unless, of course, the submerged bridge is "always" below the thermocline, or in water depths beyond any practical use).
