I bought some bright orange embroidery thread and use it. I often times use it as just a depth marker so I know how deep my jig is when jigging without a slip float- the bright orange makes it easy to see and a wad of that lasts forever!

    Default Strings, mostly

I use mostly the string knot tied on tube. Easy for me to see. I have also used plain rubber bands when in a pinch. They work and as said before, the price is right. I don't like the hard plastic or metal types as I can't see them at the end of my 16 foot poles.

Sea-Sons has the knot you are looking for. Keep a spare spool of cheap 6lb line in you box. Make sure you cut more then you need to tie the knot and clip close to the line with finger nail clippers. Have been using this method for 30 years and it works the best. wont slip for a long time. When it does remove it and tie another.

i agree with the sinker where you put your line in the wire and pulling the stop off
