Talking Ouachita and Black River perch

About a week ago my son and I went to Lil river @ Archie to try the white perch. It was hot and still and those we talked to had not caught very many fish at all. So we put the boat in on the Jonesville side of the river. I fired up the motor and decided to ride and look for tree tops. I did not see anything I liked. So we kept going untill we was out the end of the river into Black River. We rode down the river untill we found some tree tops in deep water. We dropped the minners and did not move. We finshed in about three hourse with 62 white perch and two catfish. About 15 of the perch was lil ones that we scalled like bream. The others were nice fish. Avg. about 1 Lb. One of the best days fishing of my life. Because my son was there with me. 10-12 feet down in about 30ft of water. went back twice more and the fish were in every top that had small limbs and was in atleast 25 ft water. done best on really small minners. good luck yall :D

I live there in Jena and some times do OK there at LIL river both at archie and in nebo but i seem to always catch fish in the bigger rivers this time of year. I really want to go to the red some time next week. That river is full of really big slabs and any kind of stick up in deep water holds them. Have you heard of any fish being caught down at larto?
    thanx again
