Default Ya know, it's kinda discouraging

Every time I go to the bend, I post a complete report including location, bait, etc. I have exchanged messages with several people, giving precisie locations to brushpiles--I'm not afraid to share information. Yet, I ask for some advice re: Patroon Bay and get not reply, not one!

So tell me, why should I post reports and share locations with other members?

I understand what you're saying, Rick, but don't be too discouraged. It's not unusual for this time of year.....the spawn is virtually over and the fish are scattered and hard to catch. Not many being caught, so the spring rush is over in the South and most fishermen (and women) turn to other things untill the crappie are grouped tight in their summer pattern, so it's possible they don't have any knowledge about what's going on anywhere. Spring is a time of year we have a huge growth spurt with new members coming in almost every day, and most won't be heard from 'till next spring. I'm sure if any of our year 'round members from LA knew something to pass on to you, they would have done it. I too get frustrated when no one replies to a post, but it happens! In addition, most of the members will be out fishing starting Friday thru Sunday, so don't get too upset, they can't post if they ain't home. I haven't fished Toledo in years, but I have a buddy that lives on the lake and fishes off his dock (which he loads with sweetgum tops) and does well spring thru summer, but I know nothing about Pratroon Bay. Most of my fishing is done close to S'port, but if I hear any reports on the 'bend I'll be happy to pass them on to you.... I'm watching the radar, and we're about to get some bad weather, so I'm unplugging this machine before it hits. Good luck Rick.....

    Default Patroon Bay

Hey Rick, I fish Toledo but have not been able to go yet this year. I am not famaliar with Patroon Bay. I saw your post but did not respond because I am not famaliar with that area and had no other info on Toledo at that time. Sorry if we have ofended you in any way. This is realy a great site with great members that don't mind sharing info.....A real rarity these days especially with fishing.

My computer's been out and I don't know where the area your discussing is located. Never fished Toledo Bend but it is a huge area. Don't let the others not posting stop you just don't be as specific in your reports.

    BeauxBeuax,

LaBill knows what he is talking about. Lots of people in Louisiana do seasonal recreation. I am one of them. I hunt mostly in the winter and don't freshwater fish much until late spring or early summer, hence nothing to report. But, when I do fish and catch, I almost always leave a post. Have some patience, the reports will come.

Rick I have been having trouble with my computer and didn't see your post I would be more than glad to help you but when I go to the bend it is for bass tournaments and do little or no sac fishing also I have never heard of this area is it north or south of the bridge? I mostly fish the south end of the lake and everyone I see fishing for sacs usually slow trolls a jig around the points and most do pretty good I don't know if this will help up north though because the bass fishing up north is different than the south according to some of the guys that fish up north different structure and water clarity in these two areas sorry for not being much help!

Would be happy to swap coordinates w/you--if in midlake area. I doubt, though, that the guide would be thrilled to see your friends marking the spots..maybe if they're on a party barge, they can go to the on board restroom, lol.
