I went 2 weeks ago and had no luck on shiners or jigs. I discovered that when I put my crappie rig right on bottom, both my shiners would be dead everytime I checked 'em. Not sure if there is an oxygen level problem on bottom or not after hurricanes. The shiners I fished at 5 ft deep were ok. Very strange.
Can you smell hot grease?
hey guys
been a while since i posted but last week before the weather change chicot park was hot catchin big slabs in the channel. i havent got to go for my self yet due to huntin season but if the huntin dont get no better i may be fishin this week. my personal tip for chicot is a chartruese jig no cork slow roll about 3 ft deep off the edge of the channel. works every time for me

Thanks for the tip. I'll try it on my next visit. Last trip I had no luck in the channel going towards the spillway from east landing. I could see fish on Side Image but no bite.
