    Hey everyone. My name is Ryan and I am from St. Martinville. I am just getting into sacalait fishing. I have been going to Henderson the last few weeks and have been doing pretty good. Will be going tomorrow. I'll post and let everyone know how I do.

    Looking forward to reading your posts.
    I had to drive to Baton Rouge yesterday to deliver a proposal. The water in Henderson is beautiful. As close as I live to Henderson (Loreauville) I have only fished in Henderson once and it was for bass. I did take a ride out there a few months back and visited some pits sacalaitsteve told me about right past I-10. You can get to them from the levee. I did not fish I just felt like riding so I went. I talked to an older gentleman that was picking up his little pullover boat and he showed me his ice-chest. They were not big but the chest was full. He caught them on a solid chartreuse tube jig while trolling the pit.

    Default Henderson today

    My full name is Ryan Guidry. I am 31 years old. I grew up in Parks. Anyway, I went to Henderson today and a friend and I caught 39 sacalait, 2 goggle eye, and 1 13"bass. The sacalait were about the size of a large bream. About 15 of them were pretty good size. All sacs were caught on tube jigs about 3 foot deep. They were biting on just about any color tube jig but not on hair jigs at all. We fished all of the canals from the Phillips west toward the levee. The fish we caught were all scattered along the hydrilla. I will try to start posting pics if my wife gets a chance to teach me later. Have a good one.
