    Default Today's Catch

Me and "TEE" left to go to the Black Bear Habitat Pit off Yellow Bayou but didn't bring Deacon's pull over boat we just planned to walk the bank. We left the house at 12:00 and were fishing for 1:00 We fished for an hour and a half when the weather came up and chased us out. we ended up with 8 respectable slabs.Probably droped about 4 or 5 more trying to bring them in.

    Steve, you is da man!!!!

I had a case of the DA this morning. Ended up with 17 in the live well and should of had 30 or 40. Man the fish were biting as soft as I have ever seen them and I knew what to do, JUst didn't do it until it was too late. I ended up rigging very light corks on the pole that I caught fish on and didn't want to believe it after seeing it before. Caught one fish on a jig, the rest on Rosies.....
Hold My beer and watch this sheeet!!!

Basin fisher if you know where the Verdunville landing is then when you get on the levee at centerville instead of going right and over levee to landing go left heading south with basin on right and a small bayou on left this is Yellow Bayou which itself is exceleent sacalait fishing if you catch the water right. Go about a mile south and look for a small gravel landing on left ,put down here and head straight across from the landing there is a small penninsula
go on the right side of pennisula to the far corner there is a trail that heads to the pit when you get to pit you are able to walk the bank for a small peice because there is flooded woods on both sides preventing you from walking any where else either way, that is why a small pull over boat is needed to get to other areas to fish . I am planning to go monday and tuesday if I don't bring the pull over boat I will bring my boots and get to areas of bank that are flooded .
If you want to go we can meet somewhere and I can show you exactly where it's at. The only catch to this area is you need the signed permit from the wild life and fisheries to fish this area and you can't have any motor on your boat that you put down into this pit .You can have a motor on your boat to fish Yellow Bayou but I don't recomend putting down any large bass boats using this landing since it is a substandard landing you may have trouble pulling it out .
