    Default 3.10.22 Whiskey Bay

Made another trip to Whiskey Bay last Thursday. The water had dropped another 4-6" from the previous trip and it was a tough day. Scrapped up enough for a fry. Turned out to be an expensive trip when some SOB stole my spare tire at the launch... which I learned was missing the hard way. Once I drive the boat onto the trailer, I walk to the front and step down onto the spare to connect the winch strap. With it being gone, my above average sized self (370lbs) went all the way down to the ramp landing on my knee. After a several painful minutes of cussing and crying, I figured out what went wrong. As bad as the day sucked, it beat going to work.

i went to bayou sorrel couple of weeks ago and the next morning when cleaning my boat i noticed one lug nut on my spare was missing and the other loose. i think someone interrupted the thief before he could get my tire. lowest piece of trash oh earth is a thief. went to basspro and bought a lock that fits over one lug nut and secures with key. probably won't stop a determined thief but may make him look for easier prey. sorry about your experience.

Hate that you got robbed!! Glad you weren’t seriously hurt in that fall!!

I went to Toledo Bend years ago to fish for stripers just above the dam at night. Got back to my truck around midnight. It wouldn’t start. Noticed that the hood was just opened. Checked. Battery cables off, but rusty hold down bolt saved me!! Good thing for one of us I didn’t catch him!

Oh yeah. I've done some dumb things in my life, but never done the same thing twice. Have one on order already. They won't catch me slipping again. Hell, i'm gonna put locking lug nut on my trailer rims also.

Yeah, you and me both. New 14" galv rim/tire at Acadamy is $205 (before tax). I ordered two new wheels/tires for my trailer and will use old ones as spare.

Nice catch but man I am glad you are ok. I had a buddy several years ago fell off the front of a boat in a parking lot and caused brain damaged and made him basically a quadriplegic. He passed away last year, I believe he was in his 50's.

I ordered a set of Trick Steps yesterday for entering and exiting my boat. I broke a bone in my foot last week getting out of my boat. Getting old is tough, but I'm not complaining, some don't get the privilege. I hate to hear that a thief stole your tire, pathetic! Some people have no conscience.
