Nice mess Danny!
about how it’s been here for the last couple trips !
Kept enough to eat Thursday under the bridge at six mile creek on Toledo Bend. They were hard to come by. All on shiners, would not touch a jig. Had a couple throwbacks and a couple catfish. Oh and one nice goo. haha as if a goo could be nice.

When I lived in Carencro in the 80's, my buddy call them cosba goo. Been so long ago. Exactly what type of fish is it?
I think you are referring to gaspergou or simply gou. They are identical to the saltwater species, "black drum". Cajuns use them to make courtboullion, but because they are a lean fish, a flathead catfish is usually paired with them to add the fat. It makes a delicious dish. The fish shown are sac-a-lait or crappie, the best eating freshwater fish on the planet. Of course that is my opinion.
