On vacation this past week.....made a trip on Monday and today (Friday). Put in a t Cross Bayou landing.....As of Monday the second 1/2 of levee road is is horrible (up to Hunt Rd.), Muddy Bayou Rd was pretty dang good. Lake level is at pool or just above, water a little stained from the rains but not bad.
Monday came home with 23 and today 27, both days with some decent size fish. Lots of throw backs.....Fished around Youngbloods, LongBrach and bayou going to Shad Lake. Didn't just drift around but used my electronics and fished in 9' - 13' depths on both days. Using jigs, best color was BG baby shad in monkey milk and a Mardi Gras color in deep south jigs and maybe an different color here and there. Pretty much majority of fish came from very bottom, very few suspended fish.
I'll confess, I do have Livescope which helps BUT you still have to get the fish to bite and had plenty of fish stare down my jigs but didn't take.
