    I’m still planning on meeting up with y’all this weekend. Just wondering if someone needs a fishing partner in my boat or theirs?

    Also which Mexican restaurant are y’all meeting at?

    After a late start due to chores around the house, I made it to the Bend. Put in at the end of 1215 off of Carter's Ferry Rd. Went in the pocket where San Miguel St Park is located. Water is up a foot or two, but still fairly clear. Couldn't find any there, so I cut through the woods and came out where old 1215 parallels the eastern shore west SMSP. Saw some fish around some stumps, no bites. Decided to try some docks, went south to next creek south of San Miguel. Saw more fish there, but just a couple bites(shiners), but no fish. From there I could see the Pendleton Bridge, so I headed down there. Cruising along the bridge I could see fish and shad on SI and DI. With the water up, I couldn't stand on the front deck without hitting my head on the bridge, but I could sit and get under. Tried several presentations, and eventually caught 3 crappie and one catfish. I think the last time I crappie fished that area was 30 years ago with a retired boom operator who was a guide. It was about the time flying bridge marina closed. He had a big houseboat, and we would fish the Chicken Coop area.

    So the good news is the water looked good, and a rookie crappie fisherman with little recent info could catch a few in 5 hours of fishing.
