    Yep we check all our mechanical stuff regularly, but sometimes it's something simple like a knot that leads to problems.

    Hope your wife is okay. I also fish alone and use the rope trick. Never had it come loose but I have had my truck slip out of gear and roll off the ramp (many years ago).
