    Default Caddo and Cross Lake

Anybody got any tips for catching 'em at Caddo or Cross in the summer heat? Thanks in advance!

I rarely see anyone post about Cross Lake. You may just have to go and figure them out for us. My brother says that he sees folks fishing Cross from time to time. I guess they just don't post about their success. Good luck if you go!

Thanks for the reply. It's the closest lake to me, but I always and up driving to Caddo or Grand Bayou instead because I have no confidence in Cross LOL. I guess there's only one way to change that! Thanks!

I don't have any experience on Cross, but I've heard it's good for catfish. From time to time I've seen a post about crappie on Cross, but I don't believe it's known for them. Cypress, Bistineau, and Caddo would probably be your best bets.

Haven't been fishing much this year unfortunately, but I've gone in summer to Caddo before, and we caught some around stumps in about 10 ft of water, pretty close to the bottom. It was just 1 or 2 per stump, so they were very scattered. It was on the north side of the lake around Shady Acres. You might do some research online and see if you can find some information about stump locations, or might try around the oil rigs/structures in the lake if the water is deep enough.

    Best of luck!

Right now is a great time to pull some crankbaits or jigs.
Cross lake full of white crappie and they love to chase shad
Go out on big lake look for the shad throw some cranks out and troll around it won't take long
I have caught loads of 2 lb plus crappie on cross with this method... not to mention the double digit stripes and cats
Go get them and good luck
