I have a camp just west of the Attakapas Landing toward the willow tree canal. The Verret/Grassy Lake areas have been at historical low levels for this time of year. Between the north wind blowing for a week and the low level of the Atchafalaya River, the water level in the oil field canals off of these lakes has been very low and with the cold weather that we had last week I think that many of the fish have hi tailed it out of these canals looking for a little more depth. I mean some of my favorite canals had 3' of water in em and were the canals that were producing 3-4 weeks ago. The good news is that I went to my camp today 1-23, and with the recent east/southeast wind, the lake has come up close to a foot. It was moving back out with the n/w wind we had today but that should lay down over the next couple days. I haven't heard any reports because not too many folks have gone. I expect that to change going forward, by me for one. I'll post what I hear as well as what I do. "Gotta go to know". SLIP
