The heavens are blessed with a VERY nice man...condolences to his family and loved ones.....
Well a great fisherman gained his independence on Independence day. Our own SneakyPete passed away last night. I will sorely miss our trips together with all of his shenanigans and love of fishing. The heavens gained a fishing angel last night. I will keep this post short as I am having a hard time writing this but I did talk to his wife and there are no funeral arrangements because he didn't want people standing around talking about how great a guy he was, this sounds just like him! He wanted to be cremated and his ashes spread over one of three places 1. In Venice where he use to fish, 2. In Missouri where there was a pond he loved to fish or 3. In the rice fields where he loved to hunt. I will let yall know if anything else develops. His wife, Mrs. Barbara, did say that he died peacefully in his sleep. Please keep her and the family in your prayers.

Pete you will be missed. May God welcome you into his kingdom and have a special place for you to fish. Condolences to his family and friends and he will be in my prayers. I had been a follower of Pete's writing for a long time.
Thanks for the pictures Bruce. After reading Dwayne's sad post and without reading any further, I was sitting here telling Linda about Pete's passing and remembering exactly the scene your pictures shows, really choke me up.
With much sadness,

Pete and I stayed in touch on Face Book but I only met him once. I went to a fishing expo to buy a copy of his book and after talking to him about my desire to catch a record crappie on a fly rod, he slipped me a small package of diverse flies that he was selling to others and said, "Try these." He was a great gentleman.
